4. Egg Baby Application Questions

IMG_20240118_190716_964.jpg

  1. Eggojo, 1 year old
  2. Male, XY
  3. Three reflexes demonstrated are first, the rooting reflex, which I decided because he turned around when I touched him on the cheek; second, the Babinski Reflex, which I decided due to him spreading his toes when his foot was stroked; third, the sucking reflex, which I decided since when I put my finger in his mouth he sucked on it.
  4. One gender role he might have learned is the role of a man being a fixer/repairman, because of how I would regularly fix and remove panels from his crib to keep him safe while also allowing him to see me and lay in my hands often throughout the day. Another gender role is the role of being the protector of the family, because of how I would continuously protect him and his crib from anyone.
  5. My baby has not gotten over stranger anxiety yet, but may soon because he is 1 year old. I know this because he still shows fear and is uncomfortable when around others, and cries when held by someone else.
  6. My baby has an easy temperament and has a low reactive temperament. I know this because with the exception of some strangers, my baby is likely won't cry once it has been fed, and my baby is calm and won’t overreact due to new circumstances.
  7. My baby shows a secure attachment style. I know this because he will explore as long as I am in the vicinity, and won't be anxious or ignore my presence.
  8. Harry Harlow's research is implemented by me because I make sure to give sufficient contact comfort to my child since that is what they showed to be most important for primates.
  9. I exercise an authoritative parenting style with my child. This can be shown because if my child misbehaves I will discuss it with them, but in the end I will find an appropriate punishment.
  10. My child is in the sensory-motor stage of cognitive development since they still don't show signs of object permanence.
  11. My child is in the first stage of psychosocial development. This means his conflict currently is trust versus mistrust. This means that I need to build strong trust with my child so that they don't fall into mistrust.
  12. The aspect I had to change the most was my morning routine, since I was very worried that my child would be hurt if it got hectic. I trusted Dylan most because he had a keen interest in keeping my child safe, and I could tell from how he acted that he related to his own experience in AP Psychology.
  13. I would parent somewhat differently from my parents, since I would be authoritative as they were, however I would probably expose my children to a different culture than my parents did to me as well as take a more pragmatic approach to parenting.
